"The Girl In The Picture..."

Today I was browsing the web, and came across an article the photo above. We've all seen it, and to hear the the story is so powerful. This 9 year old girl was burned over 65 percent of her body from napalm in Vietnam. She's gone through many surgeries, and has almost died several times because of her surgeries. Doctors actually told that she wouldn't survive. Now, she's a peace activist, United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and public speaker! Read about the whole story here.

Great post Damian. These photos are so meaningful and we can only imagine what it took for this young girl to find her way in life. What an amazing lady she must be now!

Thanks Peggy! The more I look at this photo the more emotional I get! It's really heartbreaking. Theses are children! Each of the are more scared than the next! I couldn't imagine being in torn from your home after it it bombed and being burnt head to toe at my age, let alone 9 years. The fear and pain in the little girl's face, her body language, you can tell she is in so much pain. I think the sadest part about this photo is the little boy in the back, walking by himself, not knowing why he's running from what used to be his home! He's looking back as if he's trying to find his parents... :(
